The Ties That Bind: Building the CPR, Building a Place in Canada was produced by the Foundation to Commemorate the Chinese Railroad Workers in Canada in partnership with the MHSO. A bilingual (English and French) website, it explores the history of Chinese Canadians from the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway, through more than 60 years of legislated discrimination under the Head Tax and Exclusion Act, to the present. Extensive text and images, augmented by audio clips from oral history interviews, are organized under the headings, Building the CPR, Chinese Railroad Workers, Working Conditions, Head Tax and Exclusion, After the Railway, and Identity & Success. The website, which was launched in 2010, also includes an Image Gallery, an Audio Gallery, and reference and educational resources. A documentary film completed the following year complements the website.
