Employment discrimination
Following World War Two, legislative barriers were repealed and discriminatory hiring practices lost favour. Chinese Canadian women enjoyed access to new fields. Many of them made the most of these new opportunities, and some found great success in their chosen professions. In this audio clip, Peggy Soon describes her perception of the overwhelming success of Chinese job applicants in post–war Vancouver.
