The Abdis, well educated and professionally trained lived ivery comfortably in Mogadishu where Yusuf Abdi was the director of an international agency. Their children were surrounded by an extended family, in a nation that shared the same Somali language, the same Muslim religion, and the same ethnocultural affiliations.
