Siva describes this extraordinary temple as a symbol of the Tamil commitment to Canada. The Hindu Temple Society was created in 1973 to undertake fundraising and construction, and opened the Temple complex in 1992. Built according to Hindu specifications by an Indian architect with a team of 15 Indian sculptors, it is the largest Hindu Temple complex in North America.
